Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and Gloucestershire Trading Standards have moved headquarters into one of the county council’s modern office spaces.

The move to Quayside House provides a modern, open plan office workspace that supports collaborative and innovative working.

The Fire and Rescue Service and Trading Standards are now occupying the second floor, so the county council building is now fully occupied. They have joined the council’s Occupational Health Unit, NHS Community Diagnostic Centre, Severnside Medical Practice, Pharmacy, Health Access Centre and Children’s Social Work Academy that occupy various areas of the building.

The Fire and Rescue Service’s Control, Logistics and Resources and Information Communications Technology (ICT) teams along with the Local Resilience Forum will remain at Waterwells for logistical and tactical delivery reasons. There will be no changes to emergency 999 call handling.

Cllr Dave Norman, cabinet member with responsibility for the Fire and Rescue Service and Trading Standards, said: “Moving the headquarters of the Fire and Rescue Service and Trading Standards to Quayside House will help improve collaboration with the wider county council, as well as provide the workforce with a modern and premium office space in which to work.

“Collaboration with our blue light partners will continue and is currently better than ever with recent introductions of co-location of police at fire stations at Winchcombe and Newent. Our fire and rescue service control room who take emergency calls, Logistics and Resources and ICT will remain within Waterwells which is co-located with the police.

“We are keen to represent the communities that we serve and ensure that we are working together for a safer Gloucestershire.”
