1.2 These principles of care also apply to the activities known as ‘Clinical Tasks’ which require additional training by either the Gloucestershire County Council training section or the health professional who is delegating the task. There are important conditions attached to each category of task, which must be fulfilled before NHS Gloucestershire Care Services or the Gloucestershire County Council training section deem a care worker to be competent. CQC stress that Gloucestershire County Council staff and the independent contracted care providers’ staff can refuse to perform a task if they do not feel competent to undertake it.
