13.    Sanitary/incontinence protection

13.1    Staff will be involved in changing both sanitary towels and incontinence pads and must follow the Infection control | Gloucestershire County Council policy.

13.2    Staff will not insert tampons. The only exception will be when assistance is needed to enable young women with disabilities to learn how to do this as part of a planned personal and social education programme.
 
13.3    Sheath catheters are dealt with under clinical tasks for care staff.
