Gloucestershire County Council is introducing/revoking the waiting, loading, disabled badge holder & taxi restrictions on Pittville Street, High Street & Promenade, Cheltenham.
The order will formalise the existing loading, taxi and disabled badge holder restrictions making the restrictions more appropriate, consistent and clearer to road users along this section of the carriageway, so that contraventions, which affect both residents and businesses, are minimal. Changes are also being made to the no loading hours to ensure buses can navigate bends in the road without obstruction from loading vehicles during the day and to correct an anomaly at the northern end of Pittville Street, where the loading restriction is inconsistent with those in the surrounding area. Finally, provision of an additional Loading Only Bay on the High Street is coming into effect, to provide dedicated loading provision for businesses to utilise.
