Browse our online catalogue to see what items we have in the Archive.
The catalogue contains over a million entries giving brief details of all archive and local studies collections held at Gloucestershire Archives and full details for all catalogued collections. It holds details of the local studies material held in Cheltenham Local & Family History Centre. The catalogue also contains details of material held at Gloucester Cathedral Archives & Library. It doesn’t include images of the documents themselves.

If you haven't used Gloucestershire Archives before you'll need to sign up for an Archives and Records Association Archives Card. You can start this process online. Please see our Visit Us page for more information.
You can search the online catalogue to find reference numbers of documents you wish to view.
You can then pre-order your documents via the catalogue - see the Help pages for more information. We need 3 working days’ notice and you can order up to 10 documents. If you know that you'll need to see more than 10 documents, please email us at archives@gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Why can't I find the information I am looking for?
When you are searching the catalogue you will only find exact words used by the cataloguer. If you haven't found what you are after, try using related search terms. There is lots more advice about getting the best from the catalogue in our Help page
