How can I watch / attend a Council meeting?

Members of the public can attend meetings of full Council.


Where will the meeting be taking place?

Meeting are usually held at Shire Hall but details will be listed on the agenda for the meeting.

Do I need to let anyone know that I want to attend?

Please contact Democratic Services if you wish to attend the meeting to ensure that we can assist you on arrival and can ensure there is capacity in the room for attendees.

What should I do when I arrive?

On arrival please report to Shire Hall main reception and inform them of the meeting you wish to attend. They will notify officers who support the meeting to come and collect you. You may be asked to wait a short while until the room is ready.

Can I speak at a Council meeting?

Only under certain circumstances which are outlined in the information below
