Dispelling the myths

We are focussing on dispelling the myths and will help you to better understand some of the common phrases that you may have heard recently.

White Privilege

White privilege (or white skin privilege) is the societal privilege that benefits white people over non-white people in some societies, particularly if they are otherwise under the same social, political, or economic circumstances.

White privilege doesn't mean you haven't worked hard or you don't deserve the success you've had. It doesn't mean that your life isn't hard or that you've never suffered. It simply means that your skin colour has not been the cause of your hardship or suffering.

This short series of videos will help you to understand what White Privilege means, and how it is experienced by people of colour.
