Gloucestershire County Council is working to address a landslip affecting the A419 at Cowcombe Hill. The landslip has caused movement of the hillside adjacent to the road, requiring ongoing monitoring, investigation and the development of a long-term engineering solution.
Our priority is to keep the road network safe while minimising disruption for residents, businesses and road users.
What has happened?
Ground movement has occurred on the hillside at Cowcombe Hill, affecting the stability of the slope near the highway. Following inspections by Gloucestershire County Council and specialist engineers, further investigations have been undertaken to understand the extent of the movement and identify the most appropriate long-term solution.
The site continues to be monitored to ensure the safety of road users.
