An evening of celebration for GCC Foster Carers

What a wonderful evening we had last Thursday, with over 130 foster carers and staff attending our 'Appreciation Evening at Tortworth Court. It's always an excellent opportunity to celebrate our amazing foster community for all that they do to support our county's children and young people.

We always want to recognise the amazing resilience, kindness and effort that our foster carers continually show towards the children that they welcome into their homes and lives, and this evening is just one of the ways that we celebrate all that they do. We are so grateful for each and every one of our foster families, and are delighted that they had such a wonderful evening of connection, celebration and joy.

This was our second appreciation event since we introduced our Foster Carer Shining Stars awards, one nominated by service staff and the other by GCC foster carers. A huge congratulations to Lou and Nick, as well as David and Elaine who were our lucky winners on the night. Both couples were recommended for going above and beyond for the children in their care, and we are so lucky to have them as part of our community.
