GCC Fostering Proud to be part of the Pride!
The fostering service at Gloucestershire County Council are delighted to announce that we have been welcomed to Pride of Gloucestershire Trail!
'Lions at Large' will be roaring onto the streets this summer with over 30 large lion sculptures and 50 little lion cubs. Local artists will be creating incredible designs and local schools and community groups will be decorating their very own little lions. The funds raised from the trail will go towards The Big Space Cancer Appeal; helping to a build a brand new, state-of-the-art cancer care centre.

Carrie Smith from Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the GCC Fostering Service for sponsoring The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail. Fostering can help build a stronger, kinder and more caring community. We hope that the new cancer centre funded through this initiative will help bring patients, families and loved ones together - further strengthening the feeling of community across the whole county.”
Cllr Paul McLain, GCC Lead Cabinet Member for Children said: “The impact of cancer is far reaching, and cancer care is vital to our community. We are thrilled to support the development of facilities at Cheltenham General Hospital by sponsoring a lion as part of the Lions at Large project.
“Lions at Large is an opportunity for people to unite and share a vision of hope and healing. Our Fostering team, and all those who foster for the county council, share this vision of hope and work together to shape a brighter future for children and young people. I am looking forward to seeing the Fostering lion on the trail.”
