Meet Jack

Are you the right fit for Jack? You won’t just support one little boy — you’ll support an entire family.

Introduction Section Image

Jack is a beautiful, smiley little boy who will soon be turning three. With his adorable dimples, button nose, and striking green‑brown eyes, he captures hearts instantly — especially when music starts playing. Music is one of Jack’s greatest joys, and Fun Kids Radio is the soundtrack of his days at home🎵

Jack was adopted by Lindsey and Andrew in 2025 and is surrounded by a lively, loving family. He has several brothers and sisters and is used to a busy, bustling home full of care. He attends nursery twice a week and loves being around other children, though high‑pitched noises can sometimes be overwhelming for him.

Jack’s Favourite Things 🩷

Jack may face many challenges, but he shines brightest during the moments he enjoys most:

🎵 Listening to music
💦 Spending time in a hydra pool or hot tub
🐕 Cuddles with Willow, the family dog
🤗 Being held, comforted, and talked to

Could you offer this place of comfort      and kindness to Jack?

Jack’s parents are looking for someone very special — a carer who can offer him regular short breaks in a safe, caring family home. This will allow them to spend quality time with Jack’s siblings and foster children, and to take a break from the physically and emotionally demanding labour of love that caring for Jack involves.

Jack’s Needs

Jack has Cerebral Palsy (Level 5) and experiences significant movement limitations. He needs complete assistance for almost all activities and uses a wheelchair. Because of his medical needs, he requires close supervision and gentle, patient care throughout the day. Jack usually sleeps from 10pm to 5am and rarely wakes in the night.

Some of the support Jack needs includes:

  • PEG feeding for all meals, fluids, and medications
  • Remaining upright after feeds due to dysphagia
  • Regular water flushes to keep his PEG tube clean
  • Nappy changes
  • Occasional venting to relieve trapped air
  • Chest physio to keep him comfortable
  • Support with muscle spasms and dystonia, which can sometimes be painful
  • Total support with movement — he weighs around 13kg and will need a hoist as he grows

Jack is also registered blind and has epilepsy. But despite all these challenges, he is a happy, warm, affectionate little boy who thrives on love, touch, and connection.

A Day in Jack’s Life

Caring for Jack is centred around helping him stay comfortable, safe and settled.

typical day includes:

  • Helping him with washing and dressing
  • Preparing and administering his PEG feeds and medication
  • Keeping him upright after each meal
  • Maintaining his calm, comforting environment
  • Lots of talking, cuddles, gentle touch and music
  • Supporting him to relax, stretch and rest
  • Helping him settle to sleep in his specialist bed
