About us

The Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB) works to protect adults with care and support needs from harm. We aim to:

  • safeguard and promote the welfare of adults at risk
  • enable independence, wellbeing and choice
  • uphold the human right to live free from abuse and neglect.

Established under the Care Act 2014, GSAB is a statutory, multi-agency partnership bringing together local authorities, health services, emergency services and voluntary sector partners to ensure a coordinated approach. We achieve this by developing policies, overseeing safeguarding practices, and driving improvement.

GSAB meets quarterly and follows a Strategic Plan. We publish Annual Reports summarising safeguarding work and commission Safeguarding Adults Reviews to ensure organisations share information and apply lessons learned.
